This body of work, Conceal, was created by the artist in response to a desire to reignite family history and to make connections across time into the contemporary moment. The images come from a find the artist made of old family slides featuring her mother and father and grandparents, then merging them with the artist's own family photographs, making poignant connections between these generations within one family. Sarah says that this personal history is only one layer of the importance of this series to her though - as an art photographer working in the broad genre of portraiture, the stories of one family ripple out to be inclusive of many.
