Sanctum

“Sanctum” is a series of work undertaken during Lockdown in New Zealand. The stripping away of the usual routines enabled time to think deeply about the impact and uncertainty of Lockdown. With a changing world and an indeterminate future, the home environment became a sanctum. Inspired during nature walks in autumnal trees with heightened bird song, photography became a response to both local and world events during the pandemic, focusing on private moments of reflection.
